And sometimes I have found in the past that schools from outside our area that we don't know much about aren't as good as they seem. Take 97 for example. PV and Appy beat GC and some of the AA teams up the state looked to be as good or better that PV and Appy. Turns out their regions were down IMO and we ended up winning the state despite not being the best in the area. </div></div>

Broadway may have been the worst finals team I have ever saw. Nothing about them looked good. Jefferson Forest had a dandy team though, that GC was very fortunate to be playing at home that day.

I don't know if anyone from GC said we would beat Gretna or even referred to them as being "soft". </div></div>

So yea, I think it's safe to say the GC faithful felt like they were going to physically beat down the Hawks.

The JF game was one of the best I've seen. That was the title game.

After I saw what they did to DJ Coles and Goochland I knew we were in trouble. Coles is a great player and the held him to like 80 yds. with 70 coming on 1 run! If you beat Goochland you're good, but if you beat them 52-14 you're darn good. But I do have to admit I thought we could make it halfway respectable and not lose by more than 3-4 TD's. ;-)
